"We’ve yet needed to resort to violence in such delicate situations. Surely, we can work something out with all parties involved. It just make take some... smoothening out with the Gangs of the Strip."-Douglas Granite
"There is no way NCR can win against Families, Kings AND Mr.House (who himself would inflict very high casualties to NCR). Negotiations with Kings are possible. So additional spying on Families could be beneficial. With enough information, Mr. House can be blackmailed because information about canibalism and kidnaping will surely destroy New Vegas and we all know Mr. House does not want to lose customers."-Arron Kimball
These arguments were the two major speeches made by the coalition leaders in Congress. Thanks to them, the warhawks were shut down and the president chose the peaceful option. Granite and Crocker organized negotiations with the King and managed to smooth things over, agreeing to give supplies to the people of Freeside and not just NCR citizens. Meanwhile Kimball had disguised rangers enter the casinos and spy on both the White Gloves and Omertas. Some even got outfits belonging to the gang security. After weeks of spying, the NCR managed to learn that the Omertas were amassing weapons and kidnapping and killing NCR operatives. Mortemar, a member of the White Gloves, was using his own security to bring dead bodies to the kitchen of the Ultra Lux and had even kidnapped the son of Brahmin Baron.
With this information, Kimball and Granite confronted House. They first went to Victor who informed House. House quickly took control of another securitron and met the NCR at their embassy. After Granite and Kimball informed House of the information and that said information had reached Shady Sands by now. They tell House to end the actions that the White Gloves and the Omertas are performing and also to prevent any aggressive actions against the NCR."So, you've managed to succeed in matters I believed you were incompitant in. Congratulations....normally I wouldn't be threatened by blackmail but I can not risk your country breaking of trade with Vegas. I agree with this deal. Cannabilism and kidnapping and murder are not what I intended for the strip."
The Omerta leadership was exterminated by House and new people were put in place. Any NCR prisoners were handed back to the embassy and Mortimer and his supporters were killed by House as well. The Brahmin Baron's son was rescued as well.
With the Strip gangs no longer causing problems for the NCR, the situation with House calmed, and the Kings actively helping the NCR to stabalize Freeside, the NCR could focus on other issues. Down in the newly annexed region of Baja, which the OWP expertly integrated, a group called the Free Fighters just across the straights claimed that Baja was rightful Mexican territory. Now the Free Fighters are a democratic nation with skilled soldiers who have taken to fighting all tyrants such as the General in Sinora and they have even sent volunteer forces to support tribes against the Legion and they model themeselves after wrestlers. Of course the General in Sinora could be a valuable ally should he be willing to trade his guns. Either of these groups could grant the NCR another strategic front against the Legion but it could risk their current control over Baja.
There are four different paths
Allying the Free Fighters by giving them Baja and supporting them against Sinora.
Allying Sinora by allowing them to trade drugs with us and defeating the Fighters.
Attempting to conquer them both.
or Kimball could challenge the Fighter's leadership in the wrestling ring for control over Sinola while Granite works on assasinating the Sinora General and puppeting Sinora.

So despite being idolized by the strip, Every white glove within the casino attacks me on site even with a disguise. This happened after completing the quest inside to find ted and stop mortimers cannibalism plan. (I chose to reveal him in front of the crowd with ted still alive) Is there any way to get them to stop attacking me?

A MURDERED BUNNY AND A FORGOTTEN SERIAL KILLER - 1975

Images HERE
The Iconic BBC CRIMEWATCH Episode
THE HORRORS OF 1975
One case which had received notoriety in the UK was the murder of Eve Stratford (aged just 21), which was remarkably linked to the murder of Lynne Weedon (aged just 16) after thirty years.
In 2004 the two killings were discovered to have been committed by the same perpetrator using DNA testing. And so, two murders across different parts of a sprawling London were established to have been a committed by a serial killer – who for forty years had been hiding in plain sight.
Eve’s murder occurred on the 18th March 1975 while Lynne’s was almost six months after on the 10th September 1975 both occurring in suburban London.
There was also potential links to a third murder of Lynda Farrow who was killed in her home in the January of that year with many similarities to the other two.
The three murders were all in the Greater London area of Leyton, Hounslow and Chigwell.
The double murders occurred in 1975 and it is chilling to think that the killer has been possibly been roaming free every since. The case was re-opened in 2007 but it is one of those that we really are not any closer to despite all of the years passed.
As of 2020 the case remains open.
THE BUNNY – LEYTON.
Eve Stratford had moved to Leyton with her boyfriend in 1972 having been raised by a German mother and English father in the Aldershot area of southern England.
At the time of her death Eve was working as a playboy bunny in the Playboy Club of Park Lane which had lead to the unfortunate dubbing of the murderer as the “Bunny Killer.” Eve was also a centrefold for Mayfair magazine – an adult magazine – the piece had been released just days before her murder.
Eve was found by her boyfriend at their flat in Leyton. Her throat had been cut multiple times and a nylon stocking was tied to one ankle while she was bound with a scarf. Lynne’s boyfriend at the time was Tony Priest – the lead singer of pop band Onyx (not to be confused with a 1990s Hip Hop Act).
There is potential that Eve knew her killer. Neighbours were said to have heard muted conversation, followed by a bang with no discernible ruckus and no damage to suggest forced entry.
There was semen found on Eve’s clothes and a bouquet of bloody flowers was next to her body when she was discovered. I have to say that the police did describe the rape as “likely” with police at the time being unable to rule out consensual sex. While this may seem pragmatic on behalf of the detectives. I feel it casts aspersions on the victim.
This had all occurred around early evening between 4pm and 5pm on March 18th 1975.
One interesting theory was that the killer was a stalker that knew Eve’s whereabouts and when she would be home alone (bear in mind she lived with three men). They could very possibly have disguised themselves as a flower delivery man (explaining the blood-soaked fresh bouquet).
This theory was posted on many forums online and should only be considered that a theory.
THE TEENAGER – HOUNSLOW.
Lynne’s murder seemed a bit more at random but no less disgusting.
A lot younger and less famous than Eve – Lynne was just a school girl who was killed on her way home after 11pm in September of that year; after an evening out with friends Lynne was walking alone.
It is believed by detectives that she was followed on foot from the Great Western Road through an alleyway called The Short Hedges where she was bludgeoned and thrown into the grounds of an electrical substation (a common eyesore in urban England).
Lynne actually died a week later in hospital from her injuries which included blunt force trauma.
It wasn’t until the 21st Century that the two were eventually linked together as being committed by the same person which means that for over 40 years there has been a London Serial Killer that had fallen completely below the radar with two definite victims to his claim and more potentially linked.
While the British media may revel in glorifying these legendary gruesome figures of the night such as Jack the Ripper and Jack the Stripper ; we shouldn’t glamorise anybody capable of such foul intent by creating legends of elusive serial killers and we should focus on the real tragedy which was the innocent women’s lives being cut short in their prime just to serve the pathetic needs of a sadistic psychopath.
For better or for worse, this one flew completely under the radar of British media and their hysteria.
Detective Chief Inspector Andy Mortimer, from the Homicide and Serious Crime Command quoted in 2007 said: "Advances in forensic science mean that we are able to re-look at certain older cases with the very real possibility that some progress can be made that would not have been possible previously.
"As a result we now have a DNA link between the murders of Eve and Lynne, who was just 16 at the time of her death. We believe the killer could have confided in someone over the years about what happened or might even have bragged about the murders.
"They have kept a dark secret for the last 30 years and I'm sure they would have felt the need to share this burden with someone. We appeal to anyone who feels that they might have some information, however seemingly unimportant, to come forward."
Both murders featured on the iconic BBC show Crimewatch in 2007 when the Cold Case was re-opened.
It is extremely likely that the killer knew Eve and this was a strong hunch by detectives however with Lynne it may have been a moment born out of savage opportunism. However; despite new appeals opening up seemingly every decade there is nothing to note that stands out as having been revealed between the DNA discovery and present-day.
POTENTIAL THIRD – LYNDA FARROW
Lynda Farrow (a casino croupier) was pregnant at the time of her death. She was seemingly stabbed, with her head completely severed using a freezer knife. However; one thing that may rule out a connection to the other two is that the murder was not seemingly sexual.
A man was seen running from the area at the time that was in their late 30s, 5’9 wearing a donkey jacket and wellingtons. This occurred on Whitehall Road in Chingford and a Ford Cortina was seen departing Whitehall Road around the time of the murder.
From the description above I think we could rule out Lynda as being connected to the first two with people even suggesting the Yorkshire Ripper Peter Sutcliffe was linked to this crime (Yorkshire however is quite far from Chingford).
The Met Police offered a £20,000.00 reward in connection to solving this case back in 2009.
2020 VISION
These cases do not age well. The leads seem almost non-existent at present and despite the appearance of DNA, and as people begin to die or simply forget, closure on such cases seem nearly impossible. There is a strong reality that the killer himself is dead.
Two linked murders and a serial killer seemingly loose on 1975 London and it regrettably took forty years to even connect the killings and shed light on the fact that a serial killer had been walking the streets of London and getting away with it for such a long time.
While Britain has a lurid and disturbing history of crime and we have some of the most infamous serial killers on record; here was one operating in such a savage and predatory nature and nobody even knew that he existed.
However; in a world of increasing technological advancement and avid interests in True Crime – a day of reckoning may come for Eve, Lynne and Lynda.

Story Time: It's a Johnful Life

The Story be based off of the Fairly OddParents EP (It's a Wishful Life) because that's one of the better from the later seasons, it's when J.P. has a 'Dream' about if He was never born. Not the best idea or writing but the best I could slap together
J.P. would sometimes think about what it would be like if he wasn't around for his best friends how would things change? How would things be with Laura, how would things be with Craig & Kelsey & most of all how would the world his world which is the creek change without Him? Basically what if He was never born? as He drifted off to sleep He was still thinking of this little did He know this would play an important part in His character development...
J.P. woke but this wasn't a regular kind of waking up He noticed His room was empty only filled with boxes He was really confused "did I sleep walk to the neighbor's house again?" He got up off of the ground and started walking over to Laura His older sister being slightly confused on why She is here to "Hey Laura what's for breakfast?" He didn't get a single response maybe She didn't hear Him "Uh Laura I said what's for breakfast?" Yet again he didn't get a response, He just shrugged It off and went his way to the Creek bumping into Deltron but he looked a little difference a this time around "Oh Hey Deltron was just heading over to-" He was silenced as Omar pointed at Craig & Kelsey, they look a little different both Being a little bit taller and too busy writing on the map "Hey you ever feel like we needed a fifth member?" Craig asked "Nah the four of us are enough" She responded "I guess you're right, You, Me & Maney do make the perfect team" Mortimer looked a Craig a little bit angry "oh yeah that's right I can't forget about Mortimer" Craig said putting the map away
"Please we all have known each other for years we never needed a fourth member were a perfect trio" J.P was kinda confused "I'll just go say hi" He ran over to them but passed right through them even trying to say something but they kept walking "Hey did you just feel a cold breeze go by?" Craig asked "you know the wind always follows a warrior" J.P. was confused and started looking around, everything was relatively normal that's when Deltron was about to say something but that's when Jason came around "stop right there Craig you can't simply pass threw this area it belongs to the scouts!" He said with his strong lisp sweet Jesus can anybody ever understand this kid? "Can we just get the stump without you messing with us" Kelsey started taking out her sword "you Don't want things to get serious do you Jason?" J.P. watched the confrontation but wondered where is Boris? Deltron led J.P around the creek showing Him everything that changed
When He came across the horse girls He was slightly shocked Maney was nowhere to be found and in Her place Boris? Since when was He into Horses? "Boris the perfect stallion" instead of a scout uniform it was replaced with polo that had a horse patch and some blue jeans "oh yeah that's right isn't it April 1st? Craig must have come up with some crazy plan like weird paper ghost things he's always inventing cool stuff... Unless CRAZY SPACE ALIENS HAVE TAKEN OVER THE CREEK!" Deltron finally spoke "No J.P. this is a world without you, you seem to wonder that a lot don't you this a Future or a Present without you in it" J.P. responded "but luckily there's no major changes this is all a dream some kind of weird dream" little did he know there was a change that was slightly unexpected "Yeah sure Dream" Deltron replied....

Where was Kit?, She was nowhere to be found in her placed happened to Maya? Isn't she supposed to be on the other side helping the king since when did she run the trading tree? Craig, Kelsey met Maney at the trading tree "Hey Craig what's on our schedule for today?" Craig asked "well I finally got the binkies we needed to go to the baby casino" He replied "Craig you better not make us lose again, I fought my way out of diapers and I'm not going back" Kelsey said crossing her arms when she said that J.P. felt a bit of deja vu "I told you last time it was an accident I didn't mean to mess up that badly" they all walked over to The Tree "Hey Maya can we get three Strawberry grumbles please?" Maya looked at them "Hey Craig sure thing but what do you got to trade?" Kelsey handed her some golf balls "here's what we got" She handed them the snack "Heys ya stuff y'all be sure to visit again soon Craig" Maya waved goodbye once they left, J.P. really didn't see the problem with this possible future as long as His friends were happy He was happy, "This was meant to teach you a lesson about self-worth but I guess you seem to be Happy with this?" Deltron said with on last smile at J.P., J.P. saw everything started to fade around him little did he know it wasn't a dream He just had to look into another universe...

Once He woke He was happy to know no matter what His friends would be happy even if He wasn't there, Once He got ready he headed to the creek ready to see His friends once again for another day of play all is well, time will tell, it was a peaceful day a beautiful with sky of blue with a big bright Sun shining above "Alright Guys what are we gonna do today?" J.P. smiled "Ohhhh let's go to the Junkyard!" Craig opened his map "Alright Junkyard it is!" All three started walking off, Deltron looked at them with a smile and just disappeared
The End? Idk man

Backstory for Mortimer Mugglefart

Mortimer’s backstory

Mortimer Mugglefart was born in 1926 to Winston and Clementine Mugglefart. He said his first words at age 10 months at a family gathering. Not being told by his parents they were going to a family gathering, when he saw his family sat around a table, he shouted “what’s going on heeaarree!!” and at age 2 he could speak moderately well, once cussing out his mum/mom when she tried to give him food he didn’t like. It was also at age 2 that Mortimer got stuck on a potty. Despite calling out “Help! I’m stuck on a potty over heeaarree!” no-one helped him, which made Mortimer have a dislike for other people. As a young child, he showed no fear of anyone or anything, often cussing out students and teachers in his school years when they wronged him. When Mortimer would be called on the register, he would answer with things like “hAaAAAhHH?!?!” Yeah yeah Mortimer Mugglefart is up in here!”, reflecting his rebellious side due to the injustice involving the potty incident. Mortimer showed a natural gift for fighting, having fought 250 times in school and maintained a 250-0 undefeated streak in fights in school . He was never defeated and commanded respect from everyone, because his opponents would always come out with bad injuries (bones often broken, face swollen and the such). He could also receive punishment and not be phased (meaning he was not afraid of beatings). Mortimer worked at bars and such in his young adult life to earn a living and would often fight customers (and win) when they got rowdy. He would participate in the ending stages of WW2 and afterwards opened a clothing business called Mugglefart’s Magnificent Outfits which he still runs today with the help of his grandchildren. Mortimer loves to experience, and has travelled all over the world. He’s visited St Paul’s Cathedral and other attractions in London, been to the top of most of the world’s tallest buildings (Burj Khalifa and Burj Al Arab in Dubai, Tokyo Skytree, The Shard in London, Eiffel Tower, One World Trade Center, Empire State Building, Petronas Towers, Willis Tower, CN Tower, Space Needle among others), ridden 2,469 roller coasters and has been to a total of 69 countries. Mortimer also likes to indulge. He has tried 197 different cocktails and has tried every spirit in the book. He also lives a free-love lifestyle, having divorced his wife Edna and has been seeing many women ever since. His travels often brought him more fighting. When he visited India in the 90s, he was attacked by a tiger. He promptly beat up the tiger and left it limping away, having only had minor scratches. He proudly displays a canine tooth from the tiger in a glass case in his home. In 2010 he was stalked by a pride of lions, but upon noticing them he screamed “I’ve got hammers for fists over heeaarree!!” and the pride of lions scattered and took off. In 1984 he also fought and killed a grizzly bear and came out with just a bruise. Mortimer is also an avid gambler. He’s won in every casino in Las Vegas, having an estimated earning of $20,000,000 from the casinos. He’s even bankrupt 36 casinos in one night in the 1990s. Legend has it Chuck Norris once fled screaming from a bar when he heard Mortimer was on the way because of how powerful Mortimer was. The Mafia never mess with Mortimer either because of his fighting undefeated streak and sheer fighting ability. He once stumbled on an underground casino and the mafia fled the scene when they had guns on them, showing how intimidating Mortimer was. Mortimer is also believed to have the most dense abs on the planet, having had a vigorous workout routine in his youth. In his old age, Mortimer isn’t nearly as strong as he was before but can still hold up a fight with top tier fighters. In 2019 Mortimer was drunk in a bar when three young Russian soldiers tried to attack him. He successfully fought them off without ever being injured. His memory is poor in his old age but he keeps a diary called “Mortimer’s Adventures Over Heeaarree!” to help him recall events. Mortimer is more clumsy in his old,age too, having recently got stuck on a toilet for 16 hours. Mortimer has defied doctors’ predictions of his lifespan, having been pinned to die at age 64 due to his drinking and fighting but 30 years later Mortimer is still going strong and isn’t showing signs of slowing down.

A man was seen running from the area at the time that was in their late 20s, 5’9 wearing a donkey jacket and wellingtons.

[CONFLICT] The Second Battle of Hoover Dam

"Everything is in its place." Vulpes assured, stone-faced as ever as he spoke through his goggles, looking into the eyes of his deified liege. "The Legate awaits in his camp, ready to disseminate orders to the Centurions at your command."
Caesar's fingers dragged and gripped at the arm of his throne. The time, it seems, had finally come. Now was the winter of the Legion's discontent, and it was moments away from receiving the order that would drive it into the heights of tomorrow's glory. Caesar paused to look up at the drifting clouds - to take a deep breath and ready himself for what whwat was to come.
"Then let it be so, Vulpes. In hoc signo taures vinces. We take the battle to the NCR as soon as the Legate is ready."

PHASE ONE - FORTIFICATION HILL AND COTTONWOOD COVE

Vulpes stepped out of the tent atop the hill - he walked directly across from its entrance, to where a great, twisting bugle stood atop a wooden stand. He approached, wiping dust from its hitherto unused mouthpiece and placing his lips around it, blowing deeply.
Down by the river, the walls of the Fort shook as a bellowing call rattled through the air. A Vexillarius sprang to his feet, his ears twitching as he listened for the second - then the third call. He scrambled towards the ladder of a watch-tower, practically throwing himself up the ten-metre tall ladder until he reached the top and pulled out his horn. The whole fort would erupt into a cacophany of horns as watchmen blew their own alarms - and the chaos of clanging metal and marching men followed, as the Legion war machine began to turn with a torque not seen since the Grand Canyon.
Up once more in the Fort proper, before Vulpes' eyes, men marched to the blacksmith to grab their weapons, to the provisions store to load up their bags, and quickly assembled on the mustering ground, as they began to march in their cohorts; some to the river for the trip to Cottonwood Cove, but most south towards the Legate's Camp, ready to march across Hoover Dam. These plans had been drawn and rehearsed again and again for weeks - every Legionary had his moves practiced to perfection, like components in a machine.
When the rafts full of soldiers began to land at Cottonwood Cove, Aurelius of Phoenix found himself with an interminable grin as he whipped his own men into shape. A heavy perimeter was quickly established around the Cove - no doubt, any Bear scouts in the region would know full well what was being set into motion, and the Legion could not afford any preventative attacks on its troop columns or supply lines. Cohorts of Legionaries set off at quick-march in all directions across the wastes, with ranks varying from green recruits pulled from 80s auxiliaries, all the way up to hardened veterans from the Flagstaff Legion. It would be some time until they began to reach their targets - and until then, there was more work to be done before the Bear realised what was about to hit it.

PHASE TWO - NEW ROME

Cato's radio crackled to life - though this time there were no words, only a frantic message in Morse code. Cato took out a pen and began to scrawl down the dots and dashes for translation - and his eyes widened when the message was complete. He asked plainly for confirmation, and the message repeated.
Unbeknownst to those on the Strip, the streets were naught but ten minutes away from exploding into chaos. The next contact on Cato's list was Legate Domus - the frumentarius quickly picked up the direct phoneline he'd been given to Mr. House, and in a hushed but hurried tone, began to explain. "Legate, the time has come. The eastern war machine has come to life - the Battle of Hoover Dam begins today. There is no time to tarry, we must rise and seize Vegas from the clutches of the NCR. My men will soon take the Strip; prepare your own."
The phone was slammed back into its handset, and Cato hurried out onto the casino floor to issue an apologetic announcement about the closure of the casino - all except a few 'VIPs' were herded out onto the Strip, and the Casino went into lockdown while preparations were made.
Every Senator in the building ditched his suit, gearing back up into their Legionary armour from a long-untouched stash concealed within the halls of the Brimstone. Ill-gotten firearms, machete gladii and molotovs were doled out - as for those who were selected as 'VIPs,' they were wordlessly handed the same items and instructed to join the others. Those who failed to comply in good time would simply be hurried towards the exit, where they'd be waylaid into a side-room and unceremoniously executed.
No more than twenty minutes later, everyone was ready - and the five hundred or so 'members of staff' plus one hundred or so 'volunteers' assembled at the casino door with Cato at their forefront. He spoke only one, muttered invocation before the casino doors were unbolted and kicked open.
"In hoc signo, taures vinces."
It's hard to truly encapsulate in words the shock that must have dawned upon those on the streets of Vegas when the former Gomorrah - Caesar's Palace - began to pour honest to god, actual Legionaries. Half of them thought it was some kind of publicity stunt, and stared in amazement - only to be harshly corrected when bullets swiftly began connecting with the skulls of drunk NCR Military Police scattered around the streets. Chaos ensued, with civilians running for their lives and - as per the agreement with the new Legate - being spared, while the drunk and hungover NCR in this sector of the strip frantically radioed for backup and attempted to mount a resistance. The doors of the Ultra-Luxe soon opened as well, with the masked individuals rushing onto the streets with calls of 'True to Caesar!' and 'For the Legion!' Having had Mortimer's... interests, leveraged by the frumentarii of Caesar's Palace, an under-the-table agreement had been reached for the White Gloves to assist in the takeover when the time came; and Cato smiled to find that they had actually followed through, with the Legion presence on the Strip quickly doubling in size or more thanks to these reinforcements.
Their first mission was clear - while waiting for House's securitrons to arrive on the Strip, a contigent quickly went to reinforce the gate separating the two halves of the strip, to ensure reinforcements from the NCR Embassy would be slow - the rest began their assault of the McCarran monorail terminal, the first of two major NCR presences on the Strip that would need to be dealt with.
MODS TAKE NOTE: POTENTIAL ALLIES THAT COULD DEPLOY HERE, DEPENDING ON RESOLUTION OF THEIR EVENTS
The Kings - Pacer could lead the Kings from Freeside onto the Strip to assist with the battle.
Followers of the Apocalypse - the Followers could begin to render medical assistance to those on the strip from both sides - alternatively, they could take the opportunity of the chaos to begin to retreat further into NCR territory.

PHASE THREE - HELIOS ONE

Much as at New Vegas, a Legion radio at Hidden Valley came to life with a Morse message - and Decanus Alexus would quickly spread the word to Symmachus that they were to march on Helios One at once, to begin their part in the Battle of Hoover Dam. The Legionaries and their Brotherhood symmachiarii would assemble outside of Hidden Valley and begin the march on Helios One, soon descending in droves from the hills in a hail of small arms fire, molotovs and plasma. Now was the time they'd scatter the NCR-loyal Brotherhood traitors to the wind, and finally seize Helios One in the name of the true Brotherhood - beneath the Legion.

I just served Boone for dinner

I’m doing a Legion playthrough on Fallout NV right now. Along the way I’ve tried to harm the NCR in any way possible, such as activating the satellite strike at HELIOS One, helping the Legion hold Nelson, defending the NCR Correctional Facility from NCR troopers for the Powder Gangers, and lots of other things.
But this one... this one actually had me laughing like a madman. I was tasked with recruiting the White Glove Society for Caesar’s Legion, and got to the point where Mortimer needs a replacement meal, and to return Ted Gunderson to his father. Suddenly I remembered that companions could be the replacement, and I immediately thought of one of the NCR’s best former Recon Snipers, Boone in Novac.
Now I’m vilified by the NCR, so Boone wouldn’t go with me. However, I always have my handy-dandy NCR Ranger Patrol Armor with me at all times in case I need a disguise. Lo and behold, it works and Boone is willing to work with me. Pop goes Jeannie’s head, straight to the Ultra-Luxe Casino we go. I let Ted out, Boone goes in, I engage the lock. Heck Gunderson gets his son back. The White Glove society dines on Boone’s delicious nutritious flesh.
One more point for the Legion. True to Caesar.

New Vegas really doesn't make sense does it?

So I was replaying Fallout New Vegas recently, and I realized how little the game actually makes sense. To try to summarize it down into the larger problems
-The Khans are working with the Legion only because they somehow don't know that the Legion doesn't allow women to fight, doesn't accept drugs, regularly crucifies people, and breaks up and enslaves the tribes to comes into contact with, despite the fact that this is all common and public knowledge that literally everyone else in the wasteland knows. You can't even use the excuse that the Khans are trapped in Red Rock because we know they have contacts in the Fiends, NCR, and the Khans who attacked you managed to walk across across the Mojave with Benny.
-The Omertas want to take over the Strip because they find that House's lack of presence makes him a bad leader... but their plan involves using a chlorine gas attack to kill everyone who isn't them, killing most of the Strip in the process, ruining its viability as a tourist destination, and basically turning it into a walled fort that isn't even that good of a Fort because its admitted that both the NCR and Legion could easily take the city if they didn't have the other faction to worry about. To make this whole situation worse, Caesar later reveals he was secretly funding he Omerta's plan, despite the fact this goes against his stated objective of wanting to make Vegas into the capital of his new empire.
-The Powder Gangers also make little sense. They will point blank admit that they know the NCR is likely planning to come after them, yet despite this, they let random people near their base, into their base, walk around their base, come and go from their base at whim, and even let them walk up to their leader, and take quests from them, without even having proving yourself trustworthy first. To make matters worse, the quests they do send you on don't have them sending anyone to watch you to make sure you complete them in their favor, which just lets the player easily betray them. All of which could have been avoided had they just told the player to shove off right from the get go, and done these things themselves.
-Mortimer in the White Gloves is trying to get his group to turn back into cannibalism, but his whole plan makes no sense. First off, kidnapping people from the casino only ruins the high class reputation it uses to survive. Secondly, killing the inspector who had been sent to investigate a previous disappearance, and attempting to kill the player, in the casino, only further makes the place look suspicious. Thirdly, the idea that if he can trick everyone into eating human meat that no one will turn him in because they all committed a crime is also bonkers because that isn't how crime works, at most, the people against it would just banish him, and then tell House what happened so they wouldn't get punished for Mortimer's actions. Also, the guy they previously tried to kidnap escaped... but didn't tell anyone what happened to him because... reasons? He also, instead of just leaving the Mojave, went and hid in an old shack north of Vegas because.... reasons? And we are expected to believe that his servants kidnapped the Gunderson kid because they didn't know who he was... despite the fact that Gunderson is a major Brahmin baron of the NCR, and any important guests like that, and their families, are always brown nosed six ways to Sunday by the staff so they get a good review or w/e, so the idea that they didn't know who they were kidnapping its something of a stretch.
-Now lets talk about House. House went into a coma because his computer system's weren't optimal due to the lack of the platinum chip, fine. But, House woke up from his coma over 130 years before New Vegas began, he woke up several before Shady Sands was founded, and then proceed to spend the next 130+ years doing literally nothing to try to rebuild Vegas into the city he wanted it be because... reasons. When he did finally do something once the NCR showed up, he kicked out everyone who wouldn't play cosplay for him, despite the fact that, while Vegas's draw is the casinos, the city itself is kept aloft through a large workforce of normal Joes... all of whom he just made hate him. This not only crippled the city's operational power, but also meant he now had to deal with not only the NCR, but also most of Vegas itself, hating him and wanting him dead. Then, when it comes to operating Vegas, House, despite supposedly being a master businessman, decided that the best way to run it was to just demand money from the Casino owners, while totally ignoring them otherwise, a business move anyone could tell you doesn't make sense, and only leads to people betraying you, just like all of his three families did in one way or another, which undermined what little power base he had. Then, when it comes to delivering the platinum chip, he used one of his easily trackable robots to place the order with the Nash's , which just lead anyone who was looking for the Chip, aka Benny, to find who was carrying it, and take it. Literally House did so much wrong that he put himself in a position that the ONLY way he could win is by having the player character survive getting shot in the head. Quite literally, New Vega's only happens because House does everything to self sabotage his own plans for reasons.
-The NCR's actions boil down to hilarious comic book stupid. They have a whole fleet or vertibirds on the Long 15, yet never use them to attack and destroy the Fort, despite the fact the Legion has no anti-air defenses. They are also so comically poorly managed to an unbelievable degree they literally can't spare two guys to kill some giant ants on the roads, or even send one guy close enough to Nipton to use some binoculars to see that the Legion destroyed the town. Most everything else wrong with the NCR in-game boils down to the above, that they were written as being a poorly managed democracy, but wound up in Loony Tunes level comedy.
-The Legion itself has numerous issues, mainly, they are written as these overly successful Machiavellian super genius that have been able to secretly manipulate basically everyone in the wasteland in a giant plan that would even make Lux Luthor blush. The Omertas, the Khans, the Van Graffs, the White Gloves, getting spies into the NCR before the NCR even knew the Legion existed, being able to stalemate the NCR's army, which is equipped with pre-war weaponry and armor, while wearing football gear and using machetes. All achieved by an elderly balding man, who read a few history books, and then was able to systematically conquer 86+ tribal groups, totally destroy all remnants of their tribal identities, and purge an area the size of the NCR of all raiders, and other hostile elements... in just 30 years time. Ohh yeah, and according to Sawyer he does this without having the Legion establish any sort of farms, mines, or other infistructure, themselves. Because that's doable.

I met Tinsley tonight!

Tinsley!!! (sorry, I had to emojify yours truly)
Yesterday, I was looking at my local casino’s website trying to figure out how to buy Foreigner concert tickets, when I randomly discovered none other than TINSLEY MORTIMER was doing a meet and greet there tonight!! Sooo random! I wasn’t even sure why she was making an appearance, but I figured why the hell not? 🤷‍♀️ I HAD to go see for myself. I recruited my closest Bravo girlfriends (outside of this sub) and we headed to the casino, unsure of what to really expect.
So, we get there and sure enough there was Tinsley in the ballroom with a small line of people waiting to talk to her. Since there wasn’t that many people, she really took her time talking to everyone and taking pictures. We finally get up to our turn, and there was a Bravo guy there with her (it was a Bravo sanctioned event, apparently) and he asked our names and introduced us to Tinsley. He was super nice, too. Tinsley then took several pictures with us (individual, group, and several retakes because she knew she screwed up the pic LOL—-she has her signature look. BTW she is teeeeeny tiny). Then, we go off to a little side table and shoot the shit with her for about 5-6 minutes!
She tells us this is her first time to Albuquerque/NM, the turbulence on the plane was bad because of our mountains, and that’s she’s spent the whole winter in Palm Beach with her mom because NYC stopped filming right before Christmas. I made a little crack about staying out of trouble in Palm Beach and she just rolled with it, talking about cops, how to not end up in jail, how Luanne has to go and copy her (LOL 😂). She made a crack about the old men gambling in the casino. She then told us she has to go back to NYC Monday to film some more of the the “talking head” segments. She said they aren’t shown the scenes during the talking head so when they are asked to talk about the scene, sometimes it’s hard for her to remember what happened from months ago. She also said they are allowed to view the current episodes on the Friday before it airs on Bravo. Then she autographed some pics for us, thanked us and met the next people In line.
Overall, she was incredibly sweet, talkative, and fun. She was a good sport about the fact that Bravo drug her to some random casino in New Mexico. I am not even sure Tinsley herself knew why she was here. 😝 10/10 Tinsley is cool as hell.

[LORE] Triumph

The Legion had arrived at New Rome - or rather, the rest of it had, with Cato and his Senators having governed with their skeleton crew through the days since the Dam, Legatus Lanius' marching columns finally became visible on the horizon on the coattails of their victory at the Dam and the NCR's withdrawal from the region.
Notably present at the head of this column alongside Lanius, however, is Caesar himself - in the flesh, without any disguise, clad in his armour and laurels, with his shocksword on his side. With thousands of Legionaries behind him, this was the long march to his prize - to claim what stood before him.
When they arrived at the gates of New Rome, as many Legionaries as could fit, including the higher-ranked leadership such as Vulpes Inculta and Lucius, headed into McCarran to begin establishing court - much of the army took up their place in the old accomodation of the NCR, while those who couldn't fit began to erect a hasty tent city outside of McCarran. Once these initial setups were finished, Caesar took his closest associates - Lanius, Vulpes and Lucius, and entered the city.
Those inside, depending on their provenance, looked at him and his procession of frends and praetorians with either horror or admiration as he made the slow stroll through Freeside, past the School of Impersonation, and to the Strip's gate.
With his arms stretched wide, Caesar greeted the gate's securitrons with an ear-to-ear grin. "Legatus Domus!" He shouted. "At long last, I have my dam; and as promised, you have my Legion!" He announced, folding his arms behind him. "My men have settled in McCarran, where they and my court will remain in future. For the coming days, though, I'll be residing in Caesar's Palace to prepare for my triumph. I assure you, you'll enjoy the... festivities."
Sure enough, the next few days were a rush of activity as New Vegas was hastily overhauled into a suitable Nova Roma for Caesar's triumph. The Legionaries in McCarran set about decorating the Strip - a row of empty crosses along its main thoroughfare serving as an implication of victory, while avoiding all the 'brutality' that might nauseate House's cosmopolitan sensibilities. Those with the ability to do so set about making paintings and art pieces, while the officers rehearsed their drill formations at length. Messengers set about travelling to the corners of the Mojave to collect gifts from the Legion's 11 newest tribes, and right at the end of the Strip, outside of the former NCR embassy, a grand throne was constructed from scavenged armour, weapons and ammunition from the former NCR - standing easily five metres high, towering well above the Strip. Caesar, meanwhile, brushed up on his historical knowledge - this Triumph would be one to rival the greatest in Rome's history.
The day of the celebrations neared, and everything was in place. It was to take place at dawn, to symbolise the rise of a new era, and as the sun rose in the sky - the gates to Vegas crept open to welcome the triumphal procession...
Vegas' streets were filled with adoring Legionaries; those lucky enough to not be marching in the procession proper, as well as curious civilian onlookers from Vegas, who watched as the gate to Freeside slowly opened. The first individuals to walk through the gate were captured officials of the NCR, and of the tribes conquered in the Mojave. Colonel Hsu was notably present, along with the other officers from McCarran; as well as Elder McNamara and the Head Scribe of the Mojave chapter - with a collection of their more elite following behind as well. Then came tribal leaders; the Fiends' Motor-Runner, Pacer of the Kings - assuming the King had left him alive by now - Boone, from Novac, and others were present here, marching in chains with sullen expressions as they were showered with ironic cheers and bundles of laurel from the clamoring crowds.
After this procession of captured officers, their captured goods, displayed on litters carried by squads of recruit legionaries; A display of medals from the captured NCR officers, marking achievements in conflicts long before the Mojave. A display of captured plasma-weapons from the Brotherhood of Steel, and an intact suit of power armour. A pile of chems liberated from the fiends, which was set alight as the procession passed through. An old Elvis record from the School of Impersonation, and then various carts full of caps, NCR dollars and various other valuables. Following behind these, then, were artworks and paintings depicting scenes from the war - a scrap sculpture of Helios One, a collection of dinosaur figurines from Novac, a painting depicting Lanius storming the Dam.
After this procession of valuables, figures of importance to the Legion - Elder Hardin of the Mojave Chapter, a Securitron bearing Legatus Domus' visage, Lucius and Vulpes Inculta, Ghost Rider; the 80s' chief, and each of Caesar's praetorian guard were amongst those present in this stage of the procession. Each of these figures were clad in a crimson-red toga, carrying an approximation of a fasces - that is, a rifle surrounded by a bundle of wood - wreathed with laurel.
Behind them, Caesar himself - wearing a purple-and-gold toga and, indeed, his distinctive laurel wreath, waving to the crowd assembled. In place of the four-horse chariot that would typically carry a Roman emperor of old, Caesar rode a motor-chariot liberated from the 80s, the motorcycle that pulled it roaring as he revved the throttle and kicked gas-smoke into the air. On the chariot with him was Legatus Lanius, looking as stalwart as ever, and clad only in his usual armour. From time to time he would lean in to Caesar's ear, whispering something imperceptible to the crowd.
"Memento Mori."
Directly behind Caesar, in place of the two white oxen that would be sacrificed to Jupiter, were two Arizona veterans - clearly old and grizzled, and long past their prime, they were the only men in the whole procession to be armed, each of them carrying a machete as they walked totally naked before the procession.
Behind these men came the Legions - and indeed, the longest part of the procession. Column after column of marching legionaries in descending order of rank, led by their respective decanii, followed behind Caesar - chanting "Io Triumphe!" all the way, and singing baudy songs at Caesar's expense. "O, Caesar Imperator / Laying in bed, with a whore! / Survived a deadly tumour / and lost his sense of humour!"
The procession took hours to slowly walk through Freeside and onto the strip, giving everybody in town plenty of time to admire Caesar's conquest. Finally, though, he arrived at his throne and dismounted his motor-chariot, strolling along the front of the procession and ascending the steps, taking his seat and raising an arm to still the noise of the crowd.
The two naked, sacrificial legionaries strolled to the front of the procession, standing in front of Caesar. Wordlessly the two kneeled before the throne and raised their gladii out before them. Caesar watched as the two of them spoke in unison, dedicating their sacrifice to the honour of the divine Caesar's victory, and to the glory of his father, Mars.
They plunged their blades into their stomachs, making a clean sideways cut and spilling their guts onto the pavement, slumping forth as the life left them, the raucous procession of Legionaries singing praises for their bravery and honour.
Caesar cleared his throat and looked out at the procession - the time had come to begin the awaring of honours and titles from his victory. "Legatus Domus," he commanded, "Present yourself."
A securitron rolled from the sides of the procession, bearing House's face, and stood before the throne, where Caesar looked down at him. "Domus, you have proven yourself a stalwart and reliable ally in this crucial war, and you are more than deserving of the official conferment of the title of Legatus, along with all the responsibilities and honours that status grants to you. The Legion entrusted to you is the Legio I Novaroma, comprising any forces that I see fit to station in the Mojave and surrounding regions. In addition to the title of Legatus, you are granted with the title Praefectus Urbi - prefect of the city; you are to be responsible for the day-to-day management of New Rome, including the organising of festivals and games on holidays and other occasions that you may see fit to do so - in time, I will solidify the formation of the Roman senate, and from there we will speak about what position, if any, you will hold there. You may return to the procession."
As the Securitron left, it was draped with a laurel crown by an attendant, before Caesar called up the next of his procession - Elder Hardin.
"Centurion Symmachus, you have shown to be a tenacious fighter, willing to take the fight to the NCR for what you believe in. For your admirable performance and loyalty, I give to you and your Brotherhood; the Symmachiarii, Helios One. You will stand as Centurion and governor of the Helios One power plant and the Hidden Valley base, where your men may govern it as they see fit, so long as the power is directed here to New Rome. I confer upon you and your symmachiarii the right to defend the technology of the pre-war where it may be found, to ensure it does not fall into unfit hands. As with Legatus Domus, you may be eligible to stand on the Roman Senate when it is created - you may return to the procession."
Caesar went on like this for some time - as well as Elder Hardin being solidifed as a Centurion, the King was granted the title of Centurion Rexus, with his purview being over Freeside and the men stationed there. Ghost Rider of the 80s was granted the title of Centurion Spiritus; Mortimer of the White Gloves was granted the title of Centurion Carnis, and so on and so forth.
This period of the Triumph went on for hours, with Caesar personally conferring all manner of major and minor honours to those who assisted throughout the battle. When this finally concluded, Caesar rose for a final proclamation.
"And upon myself, I confer my true, full name - Caesar Jupiter Stator, Imperator of New Rome. Let it be known that all who rule New Rome after me will take upon themselves the name of Caesar, with the names they choose to append onto this being of their own design. And, let it be known here for the first time - the man to rule New Rome when I am no longer capable, or at such a time as I no longer live - is Lucius, my praefectus praetorii."
A hush fell over the crowd as everybody turned to face Lucius, who waved proudly to those surrounding. Lanius, from his position on the motor-chariot that had carried Caesar in, directed a burning glare at the back of Lucius' head at the proclamation. That throne was to be his when Caesar died, not Lucius' - he was the strongest, he had earned it by right of blood - and this was nothing more than an offense in his name.
"And to my most decorated man of honour;" Caesar cut through the silence, directing his gesture at the Scourge of the East. "I send you whence you came, that you might enjoy a more luxurious posting than the frontline conditions to which you have become accustomed. I give to you, Legatus Lanius, command of the Legio IV Denver, that you might guide it to glory in these coming days, and oversee our expansion eastwards."
Caesar stepped down from his throne, to join the days-long festivities that would begin in the casinos. And as the crowd cheered in the glory of Caesar and Lucius and Lanius, only two words echoed in the Monster's skull.

I have a story about Fallout New Vegas from my Characters First Person Perspective

So,I'll start this off by saying that I'm not responsible for any Injuries I may have caused and Am certainly not responsible for the Fire in the Tops Casino.
I decided I had too much Legion Coin and I knew I couldn't spend it in California for when I head that way again, and I would be stopped and forced to give it up anyways, so why not go on a Spending spree in New Vegas. So I went to The Vegas Strip and Hit up Gomorrah with Buying a Lot of Chips and Blowing them on the Blackjack Table and The Roulette Table Nearly Shot at the Black Jack Table. I went to the Bar and Bought all the Chems, Now I normally against Chems they ruined my life once and I'm,still not proud of it but 10 years sober this way the first time I had touched Jet or even Pyscho, and achohol they had and left with about 15 things of Jet in my system I was noy ready for this and I got a Hooker for the night.
Next Day The Jet wears off and I got to the Tops with the same goal. I turn in my Chips for a wopping 1 cap, the Hooker stole the rest of my chips. I go to the Tops and Buy a bunch of Chips with Legion Coin and head to the Blackjack table while Downing a Bottle of Dixon's Whiskey, and hitting up the Table I won more caps than I had every before. I was then Kicked out for pulling out a Gun when a Guy stole my Whiskey Bottle, that's what I say but I truly antagonized him, but whatever, I went to the White Gloves with the specific mission the Piss them the Fuck off, I went in and drank my self under the Bar, and shot that prissy asshole Mortimer's Corpse before leaving now it was night and I needed to get rid of all this Jet so I took it, got hooked again, and went to the Atomic,Wrangler, and Ordered Fisto ( Ashamed right now ) and woke up with a Sore asshole.
Went to the Mojave Clinic and found out I was kicked, off the strip, well shit.
TL;DR. I went on a Massive Chem and Gambling Bender with Shots of weird ass sex in between from my character's perspective.

Why Fallout New Vegas is Neoliberal Part 3: Family Matters

Why Fallout New Vegas is Neoliberal: Other Parts
Spinoff Series: Why FNV is Expansionary
Author's Note
Welcome back to Mr. Sosig’s Ivory Tower Overanalysis of popular media. In the pursuit of e t h i c s i n g a m i n g j o u r n a l i s m I have provided links above in sequence to the two prior parts of this series, which focused on an introduction and the currencies of Fallout New Vegas, as well as the sister series for this. The sister series, “Why Fallout New Vegas is Expansionary”, is basically just me messing around during expansionary not writing these essays but instead writing nonsense about some of the less serious things that appear in the universe.
So, my fellow gamergaters, fuck EA and let’s get right into our first faction analysis: The Vegas Families.
The Plight of Carl Winslow
Family matters are a rough thing to look at, and it is through the sitcom program Family Matters that we gain understanding of how the dynamics of the modern American family change as its members age and create new relationships. Policeman Carl Winslow of the show, who resembles Ben Bernanke only because he has a moustache and beard because apparently that’s the qualifications that Uncle Phil from The Fresh Prince of Bel Air had to meet, represents Mr. House, the ruler of Vegas. House looks down from his ivory Lucky 38 tower and oversees the families below, laying down laws and trying to organize them into little squabbling territories within casinos. Steve Erkle is our protagonist, our player character, as evidenced by the line “did I do that?” which your character says whenever you break something like a prostitution ring in Gomorrah.
Oh Shit
The Omertas, whose name sounds like “Oh shit” in French, are in charge of Gomorrah and all of the prostitution rings that it boasts. Their original name was the Slither Kin, and their ruthless tactics of drugging and imprisoning travelers made them one of Mr. Houses favored candidates for restoring Las Vegas to greatness. This nomadic life of crime that they led has translated over to New Vegas, where the Omertas embody the most corrupt and disgusting components of the capitalist system.
We understand from Smith that greed that regulates itself is good. In the pursuit of wealth, an economic actor would undertake actions that would bring the most benefit to them, and some of these benefits could be brought by providing superior services, lower prices, or even charitable giving. However, not all capitalist systems are ideal systems. The Jevonsian notion that capitalists are inherently benevolent, that they act to benefit others rather than themselves, is a farce. The Omertas represent the worst kind of greed-led capitalism in that their greed has manifested itself both in their official business and the ‘parallel economy’: the black market.
In a post-apocalyptic society there will be crime, and the Omertas thrive off of crime. While they may dress well in a style that is reminiscent of 1920’s gangsters, these boys are ruthless and will stop at nothing to get as many caps as possible. While other capitalists may find themselves at home in Smith’s world of capitalism with some moral standards, these are the thieves and brigands that Mandeville cherishes. Certainly, the Omertas and their Gomorrah1 Casino do contribute to the overall well-being of Vegas. Their casino boasts entertainment, fabulous courtyards, and food and drink, but their illicit selling of drugs and flesh bring their contributions to society into question.
It is one thing to appeal to the tastes of the consumer, it is another to exploit them. The Omertas not only work incredibly hard to addict their clients to their wares, but also their employees so that their girls can live in a state of practical slavery. The Omertas take a cut from each of the prostitutes, but do their damnedest as well to make sure that the money that is left over is spent on Gomorrah’s alcohol and drugs.
Furthermore, we can see that the Omertas have greed that knows no bounds in that they are constantly conspiring against one another. They are a classic mafia crime family, but their leadership is also collaborating with Caesar’s Legion in an attempt to bring down the Las Vegas Strip. In translation: these capitalists pursue greed to the extent that they will ally themselves with a totalitarian invader2 in an attempt to eliminate all other competition on the strip to maximize their revenues. The Omertas are quite literally planning a hostile takeover not of a corporation, but an entire society that they will strip bare of wealth and promptly run as a monopoly3. In short, the Omertas are the worst kind of capitalists that you can find in any market system. They aren’t in it for short run production or long run gains. These guys are just raiders who want to take what already exists, split it up, and resell it at a profit while also taking power as they do so with questionable ‘benefit’ to society.
The People’s Republic of Matthew Perry
No these guys aren’t actually communists. In fact, they aren’t even led by Matthew Perry. They’re just led by a guy voiced by him.
In terms of values, the Chairmen are the polar opposites of the Omertas. Their faction came not from the kind of raiding and enslaving lifestyle that the Slither Kin had, but rather they lived one of honor as warriors and use that code to determine how they select leaders and engage in diplomatic relations4. While the Omertas are constantly positioning themselves in secret to manipulate each other and seize power, the Chairmen strongly advise against this kind of behavior.
This disagreement in values between the Omertas and Chairmen, and as we will later see the White Gloves as well, has led the faction to behave in a rather paranoid manner. The chairmen are elitists who believe that their competition are all savage snobs who never were really ‘rehabilitated’ by Mr. House when their tribes were brought to the Strip, and they assume that their honor and suits entitle them to be of the highest esteem of the Three Families. It should also be noted that unlike the Omertas, the Chairmen are unwilling to cooperate with Caesar’s Legion at all as they dislike the idea of losing their culture by having to assimilate into one.
Let’s also take a look at Benny, the leader of the Chairmen, before we start analyzing this faction for political themes. Benny is the guy who shot your character in the head, so obviously you are meant to have a vendetta against him. However, this personal vendetta was more the result of a necessary evil for Benny to commit than some kind of intentionally malicious act. While the rest of the Chairmen advise against treachery, Benny is more ambitious than his peers. He sees Mr. House as a totalitarian ruler who will use his people and the other families as tools until they have fulfilled their use. Benny’s role as the lieutenant of House prior to his theft of the chip indicates that he is not some kind of impulsive brute like the Omertas, but more of a calculated and calm individual.
If Benny is not killed when confronted at the Chairmen casino, the Tops, he will flee with the Platinum Chip to The Fort, where Mr. House’s Securitron Army is located. He will be captured by the Legion and imprisoned there, and when confronted by the Courier will implore them to pursue an ‘independent Vegas’.
The Chairmen are indicative of a rather intriguing phenomena in our modern society in which they engage in behavior that, while dishonorable or illegal, is generally celebrated because it is for the ‘greater good’. As we will see in later essays, Mr. House is not exactly an individual who should be celebrated as a dear and fair leader, and the fact that the Chairmen seek to usurp him isn’t exactly an awful thing. The methods and ruthlessness of Benny however are meant to make us, as the player, feel as though what he is doing is wrong because we personally have skin in the game and disagree with it. We can compare this kind of ambitious, treacherous rise to power like we are witnessing in Zimbabwe or even in Syria. We recognize that there is violence there, that lives are lost, and that many of the individuals seeking to gain independence from their current government are reprehensible, but we can sympathize with their desire to gain independence and autonomy from an oppressive regime.
If we look at how the Chairmen perceive themselves, we can see that they are intentionally written to be the most palatable of the three Vegas families because they represent many traditionally Western values. No, I am not saying that running around in Gecko5 skins is a Western thing, that’s just what furries do. I am saying that the ambition of the chairmen and their perception of themselves as the true pinnacle of society and owners of its future is the kind of snobbery and elitism that tends to be held by both many (nationalistic) Westerners and basically everybody on this subreddit (the smugness and elitism part I mean, having the ivory tower lodged firmly up your ass feels good). We as a society tend to celebrate ambition and the desire to manifest one’s wishes by attaining power, and to be perfectly honest we’re also accustomed to doing some awful things in order to get what we want. As a result the Chairmen, while the first faction in the game that will ever wrong the player, is one of the ones that we also may have the most sympathy for.
Prepare for Your Colonoscopy: The White Glove Society
They run the Ultra Luxe. Their staff have names like Phillipe, Mortimer, and fucking Chauncey.
This faction is New Vegas High Society. Their casino only has table games, as the one-armed-bandits are too crass to be present. The employees all walk around wearing white masks, carrying dress canes, and wearing formal clothes as if they are working in some kind of gala. There is an art gallery in the building, coupled with a luxury restaurant and a cocktail bar. Everything about this faction absolutely screeches “elite” and “wealth”. It’s like Gatsby, but without the party.
The food is one of the White Glove’s most esteemed contributions to Vegas. Their steaks are cooked from Brahmin, but instead of being seasoned in an oven or grilled, they actually have dudes in their basement with flamethrowers that roast the Brahmin loins while they are hanging from the ceiling.
Of course, something is rotten in the state of the Ultra Luxe, and that would be the fact that just like Gatsby, they cannot “escape their past”. The White Gloves were once a tribal group like the other two families, but their main shtick wasn’t rape and murder or a warrior code, but rather being a bunch of cannibals6.
I encourage you to read that footnote above because it will make what I say next sound much more reasonable. The White Gloves are the noble landlord class because they have absolutely no inclination to engage in any kinds of real labor. Certainly they engage in services like cleaning, bussing tables, providing drinks, and all other restaurant functions, but their prim and proper demeanor paint them as a faction that is ‘pure’ and ‘above’ the brutality of the Omertas or the ‘wannabe’ Chairmen. This is all compensation and an attempt to atone for their past, which is not widely known, but at the same time there are still many among their ranks who wish that they could continue to eat human flesh. In fact, they actually kidnap the son of a wealthy Brahmin baron from NCR and consider murdering him and feeding him to their clientele, and it is the job of the player character to decide what action to take.
The stark contrast between the presentation of the White Gloves and the secrets they hide, from their kidnappings and assassinations to their cannibalism, is illustrative of some of the “old money” wealth that we see today. While cannibalism is certainly a heinous and extreme crime, we should recognize that not all families who have had wealth for generations in the United States have achieved it through sound means. The enslavement of Africans, the usage of Irish indentured servants, and the exploitation and relocation of Native Americans are but some of the worst acts that some of America’s wealthiest have had their ancestors engage in in order to attain the level of wealth and esteem they have now. Certainly these elites will wear their masks and trot with their canes carrying an air of being proper, but they will be haunted by the knowledge that their wealth and status have not-so-honorable beginnings, and they will do their damnedest to conceal that fact.
Footnotes
1: Gomorrah of course being the biblical city destroyed because its inhabitants were sinners, although fun fact the primary sin that is mentioned in the Old Testament is that their men were sleeping with one another gasp.
2: There is a whole lot more that the Legion does and a whole lot more about them, but I’m saving them for a later essay. Just know that the Legion aren’t exactly friends of Vegas.
3: I should also add that this Caesar-Omerta alliance also involves the embezzlement and pilfering of weapons from NCR shipments that are being held in the basement of the Casino so that the literal hostile takeover can commence. Not only do these guys not pay taxes to NCR, but they also steal from them as well.
4: Interestingly their original name was the “Boot Riders” when they were still nomadic tribals. While they like honor and diplomacy they were by no means pacifistic, and this name almost sounds like some kind of motorcycle gang.
5: This is actually interesting. The Boot Riders were originally going to be called the Gecko tribe, which doesn’t make much sense considering most tribals wear gecko skins for their clothing anyways, and there was already a town called Gecko in previous games. I hypothesize that this was going to be a reference to Gordon Gekko of the film Wall Street (played by Michael Douglas), who gives the famous “greed is good” monologue in the film when justifying hostile takeovers. We see in the behavior of the Chairmen that a hostile takeover is exactly what their leadership is interested in when it comes to dealing with House.
6: I really like looking at the cut content for New Vegas because it’s chock full of references to real world events and pop culture. The White Gloves were originally going to be called the Sawneys. This name used to be a nickname for Scots given by the English, and appears in an English folk story about the Sawney Clan, led by Alexander “Sawney” Bean. This clan, which in the tale numbered about 48 strong, was responsible for the murder and cannibalism of hundreds of individuals until King James VI of Scotland (eventually James I) ordered them all to be captured. The motivation for engaging in cannibalism was that they were lazy and did not actually want to work, and it should also be noted that they were an incredibly incestuous bunch. The men of the Sawney clan had their genitalia, hands, and feet cut off and were left to bleed out while the women and children watched. When the men had all bled out, the women and children were then burned alive. Prior to the discovery and capture of the Sawneys however, the town of Givran was so confused by the disappearances that they framed and lynched several individuals in a witch hunt to try and stop this from happening. The parallels between this story and the “proper” White Gloves are very strong.

White Glove Society constantly hostile (potential spoilers for "Beyond the Beef" quest)

Hello,
This is something that's been getting very, VERY annoying for me. You see, I completed the quest "Beyond the Beef by freeing Heck Gunderson's son, Ted. All went well, I returned his son, finished the quest and convinced Heck not kill anyone or harm the White Gloves. I kept on entering the casino for a while and gambling there, visiting the Gourmand, regular stuff. One day I enter the "Member's Only" section just for curiosity. I was not an honorary member at the time. When entering, I entered crouched, stayed hidden. I just went in, saw that there was a White Glove with a cane, didn't want to start any trouble and left without anyone seeing with me.
Went back to Blackjack shortly after and won myself the suite. Though, when I went upstairs to get to my suite and somehow I started to get attacked. I ran out the casino and shortly after EVERY single white glove was chasing me, bartender, cashier and greeter included. Left for a couple days, thought that if I stayed away for long everything would settle down. Things really just got worse. Every time I enter, I am never greeted. Every white glove just attacks me. I ran around and spoke to Mortimer and Marjorie and for some reason they said something about Heck Gunderson dying. I checked the casino area where he normally is, there was no corpse but he wasn't there and neither were his guards. I tried console commands to make the White Gloves idolize me, I tried individually making each NPC have an aggression of 0 but they shortly just attack me after I do that and I don't want to kill the cashier or the greeter so that I can still enter the casino and gamble whenever I wish. Nothing seems to work and it seems I am out of options.
Does anyone have any recommendations or ideas as to what to do? I'm not very familiar with console commands extensively, so there might be something I can use that I don't know of, or maybe there's nothing and I'm screwed because all my saves are from a LONG while back. Any help is appreciated, thank you!
Tl;dr: White Gloves constantly attacking me, tried everything and nothing works, can't gamble and can't enter casino, solutions?
